Ethereum Dominates Euro Stablecoin Market with $32 Million Increase
Ethereum has significantly strengthened its position in the euro stablecoin market, adding $32 million to its market cap over the past 30 days. This increase represents approximately 80% of a total surge of $39.9 million across three networks, with the remaining contributions coming from Arc and Base. The euro stablecoin market, which was virtually non-existent two years ago, has grown from around €50 million in early 2024 to approximately $835 million by mid-August 2026.
Currently, Ethereum commands about 69.5% of the euro stablecoin market, with its supply estimated between $579 million and $589 million. Since January 2026, Ethereum has injected around $125 million in additional euro stablecoin supply. The two leading stablecoins in this sector are Circle's EURC and SG-Forge's EURCV, which together account for over 80% of the total supply and are compliant with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
The MiCA regulation has provided a clear set of rules for stablecoin issuers, allowing them to operate across all 27 EU member states with a single license. This regulatory clarity has been instrumental in driving institutional interest and growth in the euro stablecoin market, which has expanded significantly due to compliance-driven initiatives rather than retail speculation. As of mid-2026, €674 million of the euro stablecoin supply is compliant with MiCA, highlighting the regulatory framework's impact on the sector's development.
