Cryptocurrency Inference Companies Process 211 Billion Tokens Daily
A recent report by Blockworks highlights the significant activity within the cryptocurrency inference sector, revealing that seven major providers are processing approximately 211 billion tokens daily. This volume represents about 1% of the total daily average of 21.9 trillion tokens on the OpenRouter platform. The report underscores the substantial investment in global computing power, noting that demand continues to outstrip supply in this rapidly evolving market.
Among the companies analyzed, Venice leads with an impressive daily processing rate of around 87 billion tokens. The company reported an annual recurring revenue of $100 million as of July, with less than 10% of this revenue attributed to OpenRouter. Phala follows with an average of 54.6 billion tokens processed daily, a significant increase from just 5 billion in July. Chutes, operating on the Bittensor inference subnet SN64, claims to handle 160 billion tokens daily with approximately 4,350 GPUs.
Other notable providers include AkashML, which has seen a decrease in active GPUs from a peak of 897 to 283, and io.net, whose demand has nearly doubled over the past month to an average of 14.8 billion tokens daily. The overall market capitalization for liquidity crypto AI stands at approximately $24.9 billion, which is lower than that of Crusoe, valued at $30.9 billion. Despite the growth in processing capabilities, no decentralized computing network has reported verifiable revenues exceeding tens of millions of dollars.
