TruGolf Acquires Polymath Research to Expand into Asset Tokenization
TruGolf Holdings, a publicly traded company listed on NASDAQ under the ticker TRUG, has finalized its acquisition of Polymath Research Inc., a Canadian firm specializing in institutional-grade asset tokenization. This acquisition marks TruGolf's entry into the blockchain infrastructure sector, complementing its existing business in golf technology, which includes golf simulators and the E6 platform. Following the acquisition, Polymath will function as a wholly-owned subsidiary of TruGolf.
Polymath Research is known for developing Polymesh, a Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for regulated assets. As of December 31, 2025, Polymath has successfully issued tokenized assets valued at over $132 million across more than 65 active issuers and has established partnerships with over 50 ecosystem participants. The acquisition is expected to enhance TruGolf's capabilities in the growing field of asset tokenization.
Looking ahead, TruGolf and Polymath plan to introduce a device leasing tokenization and franchise rights fragmentation project in the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, as part of the acquisition deal, TruGolf received approximately $2.95 million in net proceeds from the exercise of B-round preferred stock warrants, further bolstering its financial position.
