Aster Launches OURA/USD1 Pre-IPO Perpetual Contract as Oura Health Prepares for Nasdaq Listing
Decentralized exchange Aster has introduced a perpetual futures contract linked to Oura Health's anticipated initial public offering (IPO), allowing traders to speculate on the Finnish smart ring maker's market debut with leverage of up to 20 times. The OURA/USD1 Pre-IPO Perpetual contract became available on September 23, coinciding with the start of Oura's IPO roadshow on September 21.
Oura Health aims to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol 'OURA,' planning to offer 50 million shares priced between $40 and $44 each. This pricing strategy targets a fundraising goal of approximately $2.2 billion, leading to a fully diluted valuation estimated between $14.1 billion and $15.6 billion. Notably, around 73% of the proceeds from the IPO are expected to benefit existing shareholders, indicating a focus on monetizing early investments rather than injecting capital into the company.
The synthetic perpetual futures contract allows traders to engage in speculation without acquiring actual equity in Oura. All transactions are settled in USD1, a stablecoin developed by World Liberty Financial, which Aster is utilizing as the exclusive settlement asset for its real-world asset contracts. Aster's recent expansion includes similar pre-IPO perpetual contracts for other companies such as SpaceX and OpenAI, reflecting a growing trend in decentralized finance (DeFi) that provides access to price movements typically restricted to accredited investors.
