0G Commits S$20 Million to Singapore, Makes City-State Its Global Headquarters
Zero Gravity (0G) plans to invest S$20 million (about US$15.6 million) in Singapore over the next five years and establish its global headquarters in the city, the company announced on Monday at 0G Dev Day Singapore 2026. Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How delivered the keynote at the National Gallery Singapore alongside 0G CEO and co-founder Michael Heinrich. Close to 3,000 people registered for the event.
Half the money, S$10 million, is earmarked for the headquarters itself, covering operations, hiring and ecosystem development. A further S$5 million has already been committed to a four-year research collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), S$4 million is set aside for other academic partners, and S$1 million will fund AI and badminton research with NTU and YB Badminton Academy. 0G recently opened its first physical office anywhere at Stamford Place, in a building that previously housed the National Heritage Board.
"We see Singapore not as a final destination, but really as a launchpad for the rest of the world," Heinrich said.
The NTU partnership, established in 2025, covers decentralised AI training, model alignment and verifiable AI systems, and has produced three papers accepted at NeurIPS and one at ICML, according to 0G. Its next phase extends into sport, starting with a proposed badminton foundation model built from player movement, video, training and competition data. 0G says applications could include movement analysis for coaches and earlier detection of injury risk. Separately, 0G Singapore signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with YB Events and Sports, committing S$265,000 a year to youth badminton development and international competition.
"Deploy in Singapore, adapt it here, scale from here – and know that something made in Singapore is something that can be trusted," Tan said.
On the product side, 0G showcased 0G Private Computer, which it says keeps sensitive AI workloads private even from 0G itself, and BestCEO, a packaged AI tool aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
The commitment is modest against the capital 0G has raised. The company announced a $40 million seed round and $250 million in token purchase commitments in late 2024. Its token has had a harder run since launch: 0G trades at about $0.31, with a market capitalisation of roughly $66 million, 95.6% below its all-time high of $7.05, according to CoinGecko.
Much of the S$20 million goes to research grants and sponsorship rather than headcount, and the headquarters spend is spread over five years. Hiring numbers in Singapore and enterprise uptake of Private Computer will be the clearer measures of how far the relocation goes.
