Copper Prices Reach Record High on London Metal Exchange
Copper prices have surged to an all-time high of $14,533 per ton on the London Metal Exchange. This increase is largely attributed to concerns over potential tariffs on refined copper imports in the United States.
Over the past year, copper prices have risen by 17%, driven by a combination of tight mine supply and increasing demand from sectors such as data centers, renewable energy, and power grids. The heavy shipments of copper to the US have further constrained availability in other markets, contributing to the upward pressure on prices.
