Ed Yardeni Reduces Year-End S&P 500 Target Amid Economic Concerns

Ed Yardeni, a prominent Wall Street analyst, has revised his year-end target for the S&P 500 index, lowering it from 8,400 to 7,900. This adjustment comes in response to rising bond yields and an increased risk of economic downturns over the next three to six months.

Yardeni has also decreased his expected forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio from 19.8 to 18.6. Despite the near-term challenges, he maintains a long-term optimistic outlook, projecting that the S&P 500 could reach 10,000 by the year 2030. However, he cautions that higher inflation and slower economic growth may exert pressure on stock prices in the near future.
