Sharjah records 20,000 new home sales this year

Demand for residential housing in Sharjah remained strong in the first nine months of 2026, with official data showing almost 20,000 dwellings sold.

Residential property transactions accounted for almost 81 percent of the total real estate deals closed between January and September, the UAE state-run Wam news agency reported, citing data from the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department.

Transactions for industrial properties reached 14 percent, followed by commercial properties (5 percent), and agricultural properties (0.1 percent).

Sharjah spans 2,590 square kilometres and has a population of 1.8 million, making it the third-biggest of the seven emirates that form the UAE.

The total number of transactions grew 14 percent year on year to more than 91,500 in the first nine months of 2026, while value of these deals increased 7 percent annually to AED47 billion ($13 billion).

Sharjah registered 22 new real estate projects across the residential, industrial and commercial sectors during the period, the report said.
