U.S. Stock Indices Show Signs of Recovery Amid Ongoing Challenges

U.S. stock indices are experiencing a rebound in trading, with the S&P 500 rising by 0.25%, the Nasdaq Composite increasing by 0.60%, and the Nasdaq 100 gaining 0.70%. This recovery follows a day of declines, and all three indices managed to hold significant technical support levels, which is seen as a positive sign for buyers. However, analysts caution that while maintaining support is a crucial first step, further upward movement is necessary for buyers to gain more control in the market.

The S&P 500 tested a critical swing area between 7,573.60 and 7,617.37, which previously served as a ceiling before the index broke above it. This area has now become a floor, with buyers showing resilience during pullbacks. The next challenge for the index is to surpass the upper boundary at 7,617.37, which would shift the focus toward higher targets, including the 100-hour and 200-hour moving averages.

The Nasdaq Composite also found support at its rising 100-day moving average at 26,013.38, with additional support near 25,910.82. A successful hold above this moving average keeps buyers engaged, but the index must overcome resistance at the hourly moving averages to strengthen its bullish outlook. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 remains below its 100-day moving average at 29,212.12, indicating that sellers still hold some control in the short term. For buyers to improve the technical picture, reclaiming this moving average is essential. Overall, while buyers have defended support levels, significant hurdles remain before a more robust recovery can be confirmed.
