USD/CHF Currency Pair Faces Technical Battle Amid Market Fluctuations

The USD/CHF currency pair experienced significant movement last week following the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) interest rate decision, which propelled the pair above critical technical levels. The price initially surpassed the late-July high of approximately 0.8205 and continued to rise above the 38.2% retracement level from the decline between January 2025 and January 2026, reaching around 0.82116. This retracement aligns closely with a June 2025 high near 0.8214, establishing a key support zone between 0.8205 and 0.8212. The pair dipped to 0.8209 today but has since rebounded slightly, currently trading near 0.8218.

The ongoing technical struggle is characterized by support at 0.8205–0.8212 and resistance at the 100-hour moving average, positioned at 0.8223. For buyers to gain confidence, they must maintain the price above the lower support zone and reclaim the 100-hour moving average. A sustained move above this level would shift the short-term bias in favor of buyers, with potential targets including today’s high near 0.8238 and the highs from the previous Thursday and Friday, which range between 0.8259 and 0.8262.

Conversely, sellers aim to push the USD/CHF below 0.8205 to invalidate the current support structure. A sustained break below this level would redirect focus toward the rising 200-hour moving average and the 38.2% retracement of the advance from the September 3 low, both converging near 0.8182. If this support fails, the next target would be the 50% retracement at 0.8157. As the market remains within a narrow trading range, the next decisive break could provide clearer direction for traders.
