Anthropic and Akamai reach $11.6 billion AI computing deal

PANews reported on September 25, citing CLS, that Akamai Technologies, a veteran internet infrastructure company, announced a significant expansion of its partnership with Anthropic, securing a seven-year, $11.6 billion contract commitment from the AI company. According to the announcement, Akamai will support Anthropic's rapidly growing CPU workload demands through the distributed AI infrastructure and software of its cloud business. There is also room for the partnership to expand further. Akamai disclosed that the deal allows for up to an additional $9 billion in future expansion, bringing the potential total commitment to roughly $20 billion.
