Papertrade Launches with Over 80 Billion USD in Trading Volume

The synthetic perpetual trading platform Papertrade, which operates on the HyperEVM blockchain, has reported a remarkable trading volume exceeding 80 billion USD within its first hour of operation. This fully on-chain platform allows users to engage in high-leverage trading without slippage or funding rates, directly interacting with the protocol's liquidity pool as their counterparty.

Despite the impressive trading activity, users have collectively incurred losses amounting to 4.73 million USD. The platform's token, PAPER, is minted based on user losses, with a model that initially fixed the minting ratio at 100 PAPER tokens for every 1 USD lost when the liquidity pool balance was below 2 million USD. Currently, as the liquidity pool exceeds this threshold, the minting process has entered a decay mode, adjusting the issuance of PAPER tokens accordingly.

Papertrade utilizes price data from the Hyperliquid order book's best bid and offer mid-price, providing a unique trading experience that deviates from traditional order book matching systems. The platform's innovative approach aims to attract traders seeking a new method of engaging in perpetual contracts.
