Citi Projects SpaceX Valuation Could Reach $12 Trillion Following Successful Starship Flight

Citi has indicated that SpaceX's recent successful launch of its Starship rocket marks a significant step toward achieving a long-term share price target of $900, which would value the company at approximately $12 trillion. This projection comes in light of the company's current market capitalization of around $2 trillion. The successful flight, which took place on Monday, was notable for being the first time Starship reached orbit and for deploying 26 Starlink V3 satellites, marking SpaceX's first revenue-generating mission with the vehicle.

Despite a faulty engine during the launch, Citi described the mission as a major milestone, emphasizing that SpaceX's launch capabilities provide a competitive advantage that supports its broader business operations. The bank anticipates substantial revenue growth, projecting $485 billion in revenue and $360 billion in EBITDA by 2030, surpassing current market expectations. For 2031, Citi forecasts revenue could reach $1 trillion, driven by the capabilities of Starship to carry advanced satellites for its artificial intelligence and connectivity divisions.

Other financial institutions have also expressed optimism regarding SpaceX's future. RBC has set a target price of $225 for the company's shares, while UBS rates the stock as a buy with a target of $210, expecting at least one more Starship flight this year. However, Deutsche Bank has raised concerns about ongoing engine issues that could impact the launch schedule and overall growth projections. The next Starship flight will be critical in determining whether SpaceX can maintain the launch cadence necessary to meet its ambitious forecasts.
