Kremlin Denies Link Between Trump’s Diesel Deal and Ukraine Peace Talks

The Kremlin has stated that a recent diesel export agreement between Russia and the United States is not connected to ongoing negotiations regarding the conflict in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the deal is mutually beneficial and does not serve as a catalyst for peace discussions.

This denial comes in response to a report by Reuters, which suggested that representatives of former U.S. President Donald Trump had framed the diesel deal as a means to encourage Moscow to re-engage in peace talks. Despite these assertions, Peskov maintained that there is no direct relationship between the agreement and the stalled negotiations.

As the situation stands, peace talks between Ukraine and Russia remain at an impasse, with officials in Washington expressing concerns over a potentially dangerous stalemate in the region.
