New Jersey Attorney General Announces Settlement with Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Davenport has announced a settlement in the litigation involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. The agreement requires the merged company to invest at least $1.5 billion to enhance domestic film production.

As part of the settlement, Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery have committed to a five-year plan to increase their film output. The terms of the deal include a court-enforceable requirement to produce a specified number of films each year. If the company fails to meet this requirement in any year, it will incur a penalty of $30 million for each missed film. Additionally, the settlement could compel Paramount to divest Miramax Studios if the production targets are not met.
