OPEC Adjusts Oil Demand Forecasts Amid Rising Saudi Production

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has revised its global oil demand growth forecast for 2027, increasing it to 2.55 million barrels per day (bpd), up from a previous estimate of 2.36 million bpd. This adjustment reflects anticipated increases in consumption as global economic conditions evolve.

In contrast, OPEC has lowered its forecast for 2026, predicting a growth of only 180,000 bpd, a significant decrease from the earlier projection of 380,000 bpd. This reduction suggests a more cautious outlook for the near-term oil market.

In September, OPEC+ crude oil production rose by 900,000 bpd, reaching a total of 39.07 million bpd. Notably, Saudi Arabia's production surged to 8.37 million bpd, a substantial increase from 6.24 million bpd in August, indicating the kingdom's commitment to boosting output in response to market dynamics.
