Trump Reports Over 1,000 Stock Trades in June Amid Ongoing Trade Conflicts

President Trump disclosed more than 1,000 securities trades in June, with transactions valued between $78.1 million and $263.1 million. Notable purchases included shares of Berkshire Hathaway, Visa, Mastercard, and Cintas. The largest single transaction was a sale of between $5 million and $25 million in a Vanguard exchange-traded fund on June 22. This trading activity, averaging roughly 50 trades per day, coincides with the administration's ongoing tariff disputes with Canada and military actions against Iran.

The financial disclosure adds to a pattern of extensive trading by Trump, who reportedly made over 21,000 trades in 2025 alone, valued between $600 million and $1.86 billion. Observers have noted that the timing of some trades appears to align closely with significant policy announcements, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest. The White House maintains that Trump's assets are managed in a trust by his son and asserts that there are no conflicts, despite the president being exempt from federal conflict of interest laws that apply to other officials.

Democratic lawmakers, including Senators Elizabeth Warren and Robert Garcia, have called for greater transparency regarding the management of Trump's trades and have questioned the timing of transactions relative to policy decisions. Ethics experts argue that the ability of a president to influence stock values through personal holdings presents a financial conflict of interest, regardless of legal standards. As the tariff disputes and military campaigns continue, scrutiny of Trump's trading practices is expected to persist.
