U.S. Consumer Sentiment Declines Amid Rising Inflation Concerns

Consumer sentiment in the United States has decreased, with the University of Michigan's index falling to 48.1 in September from 51.7 in August. This decline, while slightly above analysts' expectations, reflects growing unease among consumers regarding economic conditions.

Inflation expectations have also risen, with the one-year outlook increasing to 4.6% from 4.0%. Additionally, long-term inflation expectations have edged up to 3.4%, indicating ongoing worries about future price pressures that could impact consumer spending and economic growth.
