Zero Mainnet and ATLAS Trading Infrastructure Scheduled for November 30 Debut

      TLDR

      • Zero mainnet and ATLAS trading infrastructure are scheduled to go live on November 30.
      • More than a dozen trading venues will use Open ATLAS at launch through a unified trading engine.
      • Trading venues can receive fee rebates ranging from 20% to 65%, while remaining funds support market makers and ZRO token buybacks.
      • The platform is projected to process approximately 200,000 transactions per second initially.
      • In a separate development, Anchorage Digital selected LayerZero’s token standard for cross-chain stablecoin issuance.

LayerZero has confirmed November 30 as the official launch date for both its Zero mainnet and ATLAS trading infrastructure. The protocol announced that Open ATLAS will begin operations with over a dozen trading venues already integrated.

This timeline follows an earlier August announcement that pushed the deployment to later in the year. The infrastructure consolidates order matching, clearing, and settlement functions within a unified trading platform.

      ATLAS Trading Infrastructure Design

According to official documentation, ATLAS functions as a “headless exchange” without direct consumer-facing applications. Third-party platforms manage user onboarding, distribution channels, and trading interfaces.

The architecture divides operations among three distinct roles. Trading venues facilitate user access, market creators establish trading markets, and market makers supply liquidity.

The platform accommodates various asset classes including spot trading, perpetual contracts, equities, commodities, bonds, and prediction markets.

Open ATLAS targets cryptocurrency applications and developers building financial products. Users can tap into existing markets or create new ones without constructing a complete trading backend infrastructure, according to LayerZero.

An institutional variant will operate on the same core trading engine, enabling institutions to define custom market parameters. The November deployment focuses exclusively on Open ATLAS.

ZRO Token Economics and Fee Distribution

The tokenomics framework integrates ZRO into network security, gas fee payments, and trading fee rebate mechanisms. Trading venues can increase their rebate percentages by staking ZRO tokens, generating higher trading volume, or combining both strategies.

Open ATLAS implements a unified trading fee structure. Venues qualify for rebates between 20% and 65% of collected fees.

Remaining funds after venue rebates are allocated as follows: 25% compensates market makers, while 75% finances ZRO token buybacks and burns.

In practical terms, a $100 fee with a 20% venue rebate leaves $80. From that amount, $20 compensates the market maker and $60 funds ZRO purchases.

LayerZero currently operates a ZRO buyback initiative funded through Stargate revenue. A June token update revealed these acquisitions have occurred since April 2026.

      Zero Network Technical Architecture

The Zero network employs zero-knowledge proof technology to separate transaction execution from verification processes. Block producers handle computational tasks while validators authenticate the generated proofs.

The network architecture partitions processing into isolated environments called zones. ATLAS operates within its dedicated zone, separate from payment processing and other applications.

LayerZero’s technical documentation projects each zone could theoretically handle two million transactions per second. This represents a theoretical maximum not yet demonstrated in practice.

ATLAS documentation estimates initial throughput capacity near 200,000 transactions per second. The platform also aims for sub-millisecond latency in public deployment scenarios.

      Anchorage Digital Partnership

In an unrelated development, Anchorage Digital recently adopted LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard. This standard enables bank-issued stablecoins to operate across multiple blockchain networks.

Anchorage announced that Tether’s USAT will serve as the initial stablecoin launched on its platform with this cross-chain capability. The implementation plan includes transfers between Ethereum, compatible networks, and Solana.

This banking collaboration operates independently from the ATLAS platform launch, which maintains its November 30 schedule.
