Bitdeer and Soluna Launch 28 MW Co-Mining Agreement in Texas

Bitdeer Technologies Group and Soluna Holdings have announced a co-mining agreement that will see the deployment of 28 megawatts (MW) of Bitdeer’s proprietary ASIC miners at Soluna’s wind-powered data center in Willacy County, Texas. This partnership marks a significant shift in the financial model for renewable Bitcoin mining, as the two companies will share mining revenue instead of relying on traditional hosting fees. The deployment is set to begin in September 2026, with an expected addition of approximately 1.93 exahashes per second (EH/s) to Bitdeer’s self-mining operations.

The agreement involves Bitdeer’s subsidiary, Dory Creek, installing its Sealminer A2 Pro Air ASIC miners at Soluna’s Project Kati 1 facility, which is connected to the Las Majadas wind farm. This facility has a total capacity of 83 MW, and the deployment will occur in phases, starting with an initial 7 MW of additional capacity. This staged approach suggests a careful scaling of operations rather than a rapid rollout.

The collaboration highlights the strengths of both companies: Bitdeer specializes in designing and manufacturing mining hardware, while Soluna focuses on building data centers powered by renewable energy. Soluna has recently achieved its first gross profit in the second quarter of 2026, a notable milestone for the company as it continues to expand its renewable infrastructure, which now totals 192 MW across various sites. Both companies are also exploring opportunities in high-performance computing beyond Bitcoin mining, potentially serving AI workloads in the future.
