Coinbase Launches PONS-USD Trading Pair with Multiple Order Types

Coinbase has officially launched trading for the PONS-USD pair, allowing users to execute limit, market, and stop orders on both Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. This trading option became available on October 7, 2026, just one day after PONS was added to the exchange's listing roadmap, marking a notably swift transition from announcement to live trading.

PONS is a token associated with the Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain designed for the creation and trading of fixed-supply tokens. The PONS token itself was launched between July 15 and July 28, 2026, and reached an all-time high of approximately $0.97 in September 2026. As of early October, it was trading between $0.38 and $0.40, with a market capitalization estimated between $260 million and $270 million, and around 680 million tokens in circulation.

The launch of PONS-USD trading coincided with a significant supply change, as the project announced a 32% token supply burn on or around October 6, 2026. This burn is intended to reduce the circulating supply and potentially increase trading volume. The introduction of PONS to a major exchange like Coinbase enhances accessibility for traders, eliminating some of the complexities associated with managing assets on its native chain. However, traders are advised to be cautious of liquidity conditions and regional restrictions that may affect order execution.
