Morpho CEO Clarifies Misleading Post on Curator Business Model

A recent post on the official X account of Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol, sparked controversy after it suggested that most curator businesses struggle to operate solely on treasury fees and rely on private distribution agreements. The post, which has since been deleted, drew criticism from Aave founder Stani Kulechov, who described the statement as pessimistic for Morpho holders.

In response to the backlash, Morpho CEO Paul Frambot clarified that the post was generated by a third-party artificial intelligence marketing tool, indicating that it did not reflect the company's official stance. Morpho operates on networks such as Ethereum, facilitating connections between borrowers and lenders through a treasury and curator mechanism.

The curator business model involves third-party institutions that create and manage treasuries based on the Morpho protocol, generating income through associated fees. This incident highlights the challenges and complexities of communication in the rapidly evolving decentralized finance sector.
