Amazon has announced plans to hire more than 300,000 seasonal workers for the upcoming holiday season, marking a 20% increase from the previous year. This decision comes despite projections indicating that overall holiday hiring in the United States is expected to reach its lowest level since 2008.
The company will offer average wages of $20 per hour for these seasonal positions. Additionally, Amazon has committed $1.5 billion to increase workforce pay, reflecting its strategy to attract and retain employees during a challenging retail environment.
