Bitcoin Price Faces Downward Pressure as Sellers Regain Control

Bitcoin's price experienced a brief surge yesterday, climbing above its 100- and 200-hour moving averages, which are currently set at $81,686 and $82,082 respectively. The cryptocurrency reached a high of $83,038 but failed to maintain momentum, falling back below these key moving averages. This shift has tilted the short-term technical bias towards sellers, indicating a potential downturn in the market.

Despite the recent bearish sentiment, sellers face a significant challenge at the $80,106 to $81,183 swing area, a zone that has historically attracted buyers and halted declines since September 18. Although there was a brief dip below this support level last week, it was quickly reversed, highlighting the need for sellers to demonstrate sustained control. A failure to maintain pressure below this area could provide buyers with renewed opportunities to push back against the downward trend.

For sellers to strengthen their position, a sustained move below $80,106, followed by a breach of the psychological $80,000 level, would be crucial. If successful, the next major target would be around $76,052, marking a significant retracement of the rally from late June to September. Conversely, a recovery above the moving averages would weaken sellers' control and could lead to another attempt to reach higher price targets, including $83,038 and $84,178. The current trading environment remains within a broader consolidation range between $80,106 and $87,374, with traders closely monitoring price movements for signs of a decisive breakout.
