AUDUSD Tests Key Moving Averages Amid Market Fluctuations

The AUDUSD currency pair is currently testing its broken 200-hour moving average, a critical point that has served as support since July 30. Following a recent decline, buyers stepped in to defend this level, pushing the price higher into the close yesterday. This upward momentum continued into the Asia-Pacific session, where the pair approached its 100-hour moving average but faced resistance from sellers, leading to a drop below the 200-hour moving average.

The decline halted at 0.7139, aligning with lows from the previous week. Buyers managed to hold this floor, resulting in a rebound to 0.7158. The focus now shifts back to the 200-hour moving average, currently at 0.71635. Sellers have the opportunity to convert this support into resistance, which could signal a loss of momentum for buyers if the price remains below this level.

For buyers, maintaining last week's lows was a crucial step, but reclaiming the 200-hour moving average and the 100-hour moving average at 0.7174 is essential for shifting the technical bias in their favor. A successful breach of these levels could bring last week's high of 0.7207 back into play. The upcoming test of the 200-hour moving average will be pivotal in determining the strength of either side in the current market dynamics.
