Crude Oil Prices Stabilize Amid Ongoing US-Iran Negotiations and Regional Tensions

Crude oil prices have entered a phase of consolidation as traders closely monitor developments in US-Iran negotiations. Following the recent UN General Assembly, there has been a noted de-escalation in direct confrontations between the two nations. However, tensions remain high, particularly with ongoing attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian officials have stated that the waterway will not reopen until their conditions are met. Iran's Foreign Minister has indicated a willingness to engage in diplomacy but has also warned of a military response if US attacks resume.

Recent reports indicated that the Saudi East-West pipeline was temporarily halted due to new attacks, which initially caused a spike in oil prices. However, subsequent updates confirmed that the pipeline is operating normally, leading to a retraction of those gains. Market analysts suggest that any breakthrough in US-Iran negotiations could lead to a significant drop in oil prices, while a continued stalemate or escalation of tensions may support prices at higher levels.

Technical analysis shows that crude oil is currently consolidating near the lower boundary of its trading channel. Buyers are expected to enter the market around this trendline, aiming for a potential rally towards the $110 resistance level. Conversely, sellers are poised to capitalize on any break below this channel, targeting a drop towards the $68 support level. Upcoming economic indicators, including the US ISM Services PMI and jobless claims figures, will also play a role in shaping market sentiment as the week progresses.
