Datavault AI Plans $94.5 Million CyberCatch Buy to Shield Organizations Against AI Attacks
Datavault AI plans to add artificial intelligence-driven, quantum-resistant cyber risk mitigation to its Data Vault Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) by acquiring cybersecurity company CyberCatch for $94.5 million, according to a Friday (Aug. 14) press release.
The proposed transaction will also bring CyberCatch’s AI-enabled continuous compliance and cyber risk mitigation platform into Datavault AI’s Quantum Private Network (QPN) GPU ecosystem, addressing the need for ways to combat fraudsters that are using AI to breach networks as well as the need to prepare for the post-quantum security era, according to the release.
Datavault AI’s proposed acquisition of CyberCatch is subject to customary board, stock exchange, and any regulatory and shareholder approvals, the release said.
Upon closing of the transaction, CyberCatch will operate as a subsidiary of Datavault AI, with CyberCatch Founder, Chairman and CEO Sai Huda serving as president of the subsidiary and reporting to Datavault AI CEO Nathaniel T. Bradley, per the release.
Bradley said in the release: “Cybersecurity is no longer a separate stack from data and AI. It is the precondition for both. CyberCatch’s continuous compliance and cyber risk mitigation platform is expected to add to DataValue, DataScore and IDE a real-time risk and compliance signal at every node of our edge fleet, from federal contractors to enterprise data customers.”
Huda said in the release: “Joining Datavault AI gives our customers a clear path to a unified secure-data platform with continuous compliance and cyber risk mitigation built in.”
IBM said in a July 29 press release that after learning about the cyber capabilities of frontier AI models, a higher percentage of organizations plan to increase their security spending.
The share of organizations planning to increase security spending rose to 85% in May, up from 64% in the year from March 2025 to February 2026.
IBM attributed the increase to organizations “becoming aware of advanced frontier AI cyber capabilities.”
Google said in March that Q-day, the moment when traditional encryption methods are rendered useless by quantum advances, could arrive by 2029.
The tech giant suggested that if firms don’t migrate their data over to post-quantum cryptography by 2029, they will be exposed to one of the most existential threats in 21st century business history.
