Ethereum (ETH) Surges Past $2,560 Resistance With Eyes on $2,760 Target
Key Takeaways
- ETH is currently changing hands near $2,664 following a decisive break above its September trading range.
- The cryptocurrency surged past the $2,560 resistance zone and successfully defended this level during a pullback test.
- Daily price action reveals ETH touched $2,700, with the $2,760 level now identified as the subsequent critical resistance.
- The Relative Strength Index stands at 67.16, indicating robust upward momentum without entering overbought territory above 70.
- The MACD indicator has flipped positive once more, confirming the validity of the ongoing breakout pattern.
Ethereum (ETH) climbed beyond the $2,600 mark on September 21, successfully breaching a resistance barrier that had constrained upward movement throughout the previous month.

The second-largest cryptocurrency began the session around $2,645 and climbed to a session peak of $2,700. At press time, ETH was valued at approximately $2,664.
This upward movement continues Ethereum’s impressive rebound from its June trough near $1,500. The daily chart pattern has consistently established progressively higher lows since that bottom.
An ascending trendline originating from the June base point continues to hold firm. This technical support line has underpinned the recovery throughout the summer months and into early fall.
ETH experienced a sharp upward surge in late August, rocketing from beneath $1,900 to above $2,300. Following this rally, the asset entered a period of sideways consolidation before executing the current breakout.
Key Resistance Level Turns Support
The most significant technical milestone is Ethereum’s sustained position above the $2,560 threshold. ETH not only pierced this barrier but has maintained elevation above it.
Technical analyst Ali Charts characterized this price action as a validated breakout. In a social media update on X, he noted that Ethereum had penetrated above $2,560, completed a successful backtest of this level as new support, and resumed its upward trajectory.
Ali Charts specified that his attention is now focused on $2,760 as the subsequent critical target, provided the breakout framework remains intact.
This target resides above the present intraday peak of $2,700. Clearing the $2,700 barrier would therefore place the $2,760 zone squarely in traders’ sights.
The previous resistance zone spanning $2,500 to $2,560 has now transformed into the primary nearby support region. Maintaining elevation above this range will be essential to preserving the breakout’s validity.
Technical Indicators Signal Strength
Ethereum’s technical momentum gauges have demonstrated notable improvement. The daily Relative Strength Index currently registers 67.16.

This positioning keeps the RSI beneath the widely monitored overbought threshold of 70. The current reading demonstrates that buying demand has intensified while avoiding excessive bullish extremes.
The MACD indicator is also trending upward again after September’s sideways consolidation phase. The MACD line currently sits at approximately 80.47, while the signal line reads 75.22.
The histogram has returned to positive values at roughly 5.25. This development indicates that near-term momentum has gained strength in conjunction with the breakout movement.
The broader chart perspective reveals that Ethereum remains below the price levels observed in early 2026, when ETH approached the $3,000 threshold.
At present, ETH continues to maintain its position above the $2,560 breakout zone after touching $2,700, with analyst Ali Charts monitoring $2,760 as the next significant resistance target.
