Solana (SOL) Surges Past $110 Mark in Seven-Month Price Peak
Key Highlights
- SOL surged 10.75% to reach $112.28, marking a seven-month peak.
- The token successfully breached the critical $110 resistance threshold, targeting $115 and $120 levels.
- Open interest in Solana futures expanded 18.44% to $7.01 billion.
- Total assets under management in Solana ETFs hit $1.42 billion, with aggregate inflows at $1.37 billion.
- Market participants monitored fresh CFTC cryptocurrency regulations submitted to the White House.
Solana (SOL) broke through the $110 threshold as buying pressure propelled the digital asset to its strongest position in seven months.

The token registered a 10.75% increase, peaking at $112.28 throughout the session. This upward movement coincided with broader cryptocurrency market strength.
The aggregate digital asset market cap expanded 5.06% to $2.76 trillion. Bitcoin climbed beyond the $80,000 threshold, while Ethereum reclaimed the $2,500 level.
XRP posted approximately 7% gains. Solana’s performance, though, stood out as it overcame a significant technical obstacle at the $110 mark.
This breakthrough positioned $115 and $120 as subsequent resistance zones under trader scrutiny. SOL had faced challenges sustaining upward movement above the $100 zone previously.
Surge in derivatives market engagement
Trading volume in Solana derivatives contracts jumped 71.64% to $12.17 billion. Open interest in futures contracts expanded 18.44% to $7.01 billion as market participants established fresh positions.
Options market participation similarly intensified. Options trading volume spiked 120.5%, while open interest in options contracts grew 6.96% to $178.52 million.
Blockchain analytics revealed that over 40 million SOL tokens were transacted around the $100 price point. This establishes the zone as a significant acquisition level for numerous investors.
Liquidation metrics indicated substantial leveraged trading throughout the rally. Available data recorded roughly $103 million in cleared short positions alongside $1.4 billion in eliminated long positions.
Trader Ash Crypto shared commentary noting SOL’s achievement of reaching $110 for the first time in seven months. The analysis characterized the movement as favorable for token holders without specifying additional price objectives.
Investment product holdings exceed $1.42 billion
Solana-focused investment vehicles maintained substantial capital accumulation. ETF holdings were assessed at $1.42 billion as of September 17.
Aggregate inflows into these products totaled $1.37 billion, though daily flow activity remained neutral. Daily trading volume measured $50.95 million.
Bitwise’s BSOL led with $974.52 million in managed assets and documented $1.04 billion in total inflows.
Regulatory shifts contributed to recent market dynamics. Updated CFTC cryptocurrency market regulations were forwarded to the White House for examination after the Senate failed to progress the CLARITY Act.
Bull Theory drew attention to the CFTC development through a social media post, noting the regulations were transmitted to the White House immediately following the CLARITY Act’s legislative setback.
Currently, SOL maintains its position above the former $110 resistance zone, with $115 and $120 representing the upcoming price levels highlighted in available market analysis.
