Ethereum Faces Consolidation Amid Challenging Economic Conditions

Ethereum is currently consolidating around significant technical levels as the broader cryptocurrency market grapples with a challenging macroeconomic environment. The ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly the stalled negotiations between the United States and Iran, alongside the persistent conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi forces, have contributed to a negative sentiment in the market. Additionally, oil prices have surged above $100, prompting concerns about inflation and economic growth, which could adversely affect risk assets such as Ethereum.

This week, market participants are closely watching the upcoming release of the US Flash Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data scheduled for Friday. A disappointing outcome could exacerbate growth concerns and potentially trigger another selloff in Ethereum. Conversely, if the data exceeds expectations, it may lead to a short-term relief rally, although it would not alter the overarching need for interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

On the technical front, Ethereum is hovering around the critical support level of $2,360, with buyers likely to continue entering the market at this point. A break below the trendline could open the door for further declines, targeting the $1,900 level. Conversely, a move above the downward trendline could signal bullish momentum, with the first target set at $2,570. Upcoming economic indicators, including US Jobless Claims figures on Thursday, will also play a crucial role in shaping market sentiment.
