Ethereum Price Stabilizes Amid Easing Geopolitical Tensions and Anticipation of US CPI Report

Ethereum's recent price movements have been significantly influenced by macroeconomic factors and geopolitical developments, particularly fluctuations in US Treasury yields and the strength of the US dollar. A recent escalation in tensions between the US and Iran initially led to a selloff in the cryptocurrency market. However, the situation stabilized after former President Donald Trump indicated that military strikes on Iran would not occur before the upcoming elections, allowing some losses to be recovered as negotiations continue regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Market participants are now closely monitoring the upcoming US Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, scheduled for release on Wednesday. A higher-than-expected core inflation reading could reignite concerns over potential interest rate hikes, which may negatively impact the cryptocurrency market. Conversely, a softer CPI report could bolster Ethereum's price, particularly in the context of declining Treasury yields and a weaker dollar, providing a more favorable environment for traders.

Technical analysis indicates that Ethereum has recently broken below a significant upward trendline, prompting sellers to target further declines. Should the price approach the next major trendline, buyers may re-enter the market, positioning for a potential rally towards the $3,400 level. However, if sellers manage to push the price lower, a drop towards the $1,900 level could occur. Resistance is noted around the $2,630 mark, where sellers may also look to capitalize on any upward movements.
