European Companies Shift Treasury to Mobile With Bank of America CashPro

Bank of America’s digital platform for treasury tasks, CashPro App, was used by European companies to approve more than €100 billion (about $115 billion) in payments in the first seven months of the year, the bank said in a Thursday (Sept. 17) press release emailed to PYMNTS.

During that period, European companies’ transaction volume rose 25% and payment value increased 21%, according to the release.

Bank of America attributed this growth to European companies turning to CashPro App to manage time-sensitive treasury tasks and mobile access becoming embedded in corporate treasury workflows.

Seventy-four percent of European CashPro users now choose a CashPro mobile token to authenticate and access the platform, per the release.

“Mobile is an integral part of the daily treasury workflow, giving clients the flexibility to manage critical tasks securely wherever they are,” Matthew Davies, head of Global Payments Solutions EMEA at Bank of America, said in the release.

Heath Bergman, CashPro App product executive at Bank of America, said in the release that client feedback is informing updates the bank makes to the platform.

“Clients around the globe have embraced mobile and continue to ask us to expand what they can accomplish through the app,” Bergman said.

CashPro is used by more than 35,000 companies around the world, according to the release.

Bank of America announced in December that over the previous 12 months, its CashPro Forecasting solution helped more than 3,000 companies save upwards of 250,000 hours. This tool is accessed from CashPro and automates what is typically a highly manual effort, the bank said at the time.

In October, Bank of America reported record adoption of its CashPro Chat and transaction search capabilities as corporate clients sought real-time insights and operational efficiency in treasury management. The bank said that usage had risen 21% year over year and that almost 70% of its corporate clients were employing the tool to access account information for transaction tracking and service resolution.

Tom Durkin, global product head of CashPro in Global Payments Solutions at Bank of America, told PYMNTS in August 2025 that the platform was undergoing a transformation fueled by artificial intelligence, real-time data and digital capabilities.

“Clients … are looking for more productivity and efficiency out of tools that help them manage cash, payments and receivables,” Durkin said.
