FX Option Expiries Scheduled for September 4th at 10 AM ET

On September 4th at 10 AM ET, several foreign exchange (FX) options are set to expire, with significant strike prices impacting major currency pairs. Notable expiries include EUR/USD at 1.1700 with €1.78 billion, 1.1600 with €3.13 billion, and 1.1500 with €1.75 billion. Other key levels for GBP/USD include 1.3615 with £439.22 million and 1.3500 with £315.47 million.

The USD/JPY pair will see expiries at 157.00 with US$2.19 billion and 155.00 with US$2.94 million. Additionally, the USD/CAD pair has significant levels at 1.4000 with US$781.48 million and 1.3800 with US$1.28 billion. Market participants are closely monitoring these levels as they often influence price movements due to hedging activities by market makers.

As the expiration time approaches, traders expect the price to gravitate towards these strike prices, particularly if the market remains stable. This phenomenon occurs because market makers need to adjust their positions to mitigate risk, which can lead to reduced volatility and price stabilization near the expiry levels.
