Hacking Group Claims Major Data Breach of FBI Information

The hacking group ShinyHunters has announced that it has stolen between 2 to 3 terabytes of data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which includes sensitive information about thousands of current and former employees. The group claims that the leaked data contains personal details and job assignments, some of which involve work related to Chinese and Russian intelligence operations as well as drug cartels.

In response to the breach, the FBI has confirmed that it is actively investigating the incident. Independent verification by Reuters has confirmed details for over 22 individuals whose information was reportedly included in the leaked data. The implications of this breach raise significant concerns regarding the security of sensitive government information and the potential risks posed by unauthorized access to such data.
