U.S. Diesel Cracks Decline Following Export Ban Report

U.S. diesel crack spreads experienced a significant drop, falling by $12.70 to $97.85 per barrel, following reports that the White House is considering a 90-day ban on diesel exports. This potential policy shift has raised concerns among market participants about the future of diesel supply and pricing.

In contrast, gasoline crack spreads saw an increase of $2, reaching $47.41 per barrel. Analysts suggest that the decline in diesel margins could lead refiners to reduce production, which may subsequently tighten gasoline supply in the market.

Additionally, European gasoil crack spreads rose as traders adjusted their expectations in light of the anticipated reduction in U.S. diesel exports. This development highlights the interconnected nature of global fuel markets and the potential ripple effects of U.S. policy decisions on international pricing dynamics.
