Anthropic Leaders Invest in AI-Driven Biodefense Startup Pilgrim

Two leaders from Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, have invested in Pilgrim, a startup focused on developing technology to detect airborne biological threats such as Ebola and anthrax. This investment comes as Pilgrim successfully raised $25 million at a valuation of $150 million.

Pilgrim has created a system called Argus, which combines sensor technology with genomic sequencing to identify biological threats. The startup is collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) amid rising concerns that advancements in artificial intelligence could exacerbate biological security risks.
