McDonald's CEO Acknowledges Persistent Inflation and Weak Customer Traffic

Chris Kempczinski, the CEO of McDonald's, has indicated that high inflation and weak customer traffic are likely to remain ongoing challenges for the restaurant industry. In the latest financial report, the company revealed that same-store sales in the United States increased by only 0.8% in the last quarter, while overall restaurant traffic experienced a decline.

Kempczinski highlighted that elevated costs for beef, labor, and construction are contributing to the current economic landscape. In response to these challenges, McDonald's is planning to adopt an aggressive strategy to capture market share, although the company remains cautious about implementing further price increases on its menu items.
