Fitch Ratings Highlights Risks from U.S.-EU Tensions
Fitch Ratings has issued a warning regarding ongoing tensions between the United States and European Union, indicating that these issues could undermine NATO cohesion and raise doubts about the reliability of U.S. security commitments to its European allies. The agency pointed out that the potential for renewed tariffs between the U.S. and EU poses a significant risk to economic relations.
In addition to trade concerns, Fitch noted that disputes over Greenland could further exacerbate tensions between the two regions. Despite these challenges, the agency assessed that a major conflict involving NATO's eastern members and Russia is unlikely in the near term. This perspective suggests that while geopolitical risks are present, the immediate threat of military escalation remains low.
