Huawei has raised the price of its Ascend 950DT AI accelerator by approximately 60%, bringing the cost to $37,300. This price hike is attributed to a significant increase in demand that is currently outpacing supply.
The surge in demand for Huawei's AI chips is partly driven by the need for alternatives to products from Nvidia, a leading player in the AI chip market. Additionally, shortages of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) are contributing to the rising costs associated with manufacturing these chips.
