Over 17,000 real estate-related transactions processed in Sept
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) processed 17,023 real estate registration and authentication transactions in September, as the country’s real estate market continued to see significant trading activity.
According to the ministry’s September figures, 12,230 transactions involved real estate authentication, while another 4,518 involved real estate registration, with 275 transactions completed through Abshir service, a mobile office that provides easy access when needed. Authentication services accounted for the largest share of activity. The most frequently processed transactions were 4,400 foundation contracts, 2,575 general powers of attorney in cases, 815 special official authorisations, 429 transactions involving the sale of shares in companies or corporations, and 399 special official authorisations within companies or corporations. Together, these five categories accounted for 8,618 transactions, or roughly 70% of the authentication transactions reported.
Real estate registration activity was led by the issuance of 1,752 property lists, followed by 483 sale contracts, 277 regulatory modification documents, 241 state gift documents and 190 replacement ownership documents. These five categories accounted for 2,943 transactions.
The geographical distribution of services showed particularly strong activity in the ministry’s Western and Southern sectors. Within real estate registration, the West Sector handled 1,334 transactions, followed by the South with 458, Al Shamal with 230, and the East with 155. The ministry’s headquarters processed a further 2,341 registration transactions.
Authentication services recorded an even higher volume across the service network. The South Sector processed 3,049 transactions, followed by the West with 2,178, the ministry headquarters with 1,403, Al Shamal with 619, and the East with 604. A substantial 4,377 authentication transactions were completed online through the Single Window System, indicating the accelerating shift toward integrated digital government services.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Justice data showed that real estate trading under registered sale contracts reached QR1.291 bn in August, based on 424 property transactions. Doha accounted for the largest share at about QR435.5 million, followed by Al Rayyan at QR335.5 mn and Al Dhaayen at QR175.2 mon. September subsequently produced several strong weekly readings. Real estate trading reached QR387.9 mn during September 6–10, while the September 13–17 period recorded about QR371 mn. For September 20–24, trading surged to around QR583.1 mn, including QR516.4 mn in registered sales contracts and QR66.7 million in residential-unit sales.
Further, the Ministry of Justice has been pursuing a broader digital transformation programme to make its real estate registration and authentication services increasingly accessible electronically, reducing the need for physical visits while improving processing efficiency and customer convenience.
