QTREX Quantum (QTEX) Jumps 14% After Cryogenic Interconnect Tests Exceed Industry Standards
TLDR
- QTREX Quantum (NASDAQ:QTEX) stock jumped approximately 14% on Friday after releasing results from independent testing.
- Third-party evaluation demonstrated the firm’s cryogenic interconnect delivered more than 100 decibels of channel isolation at 20 millikelvin temperatures.
- Performance exceeded top-tier flexible cables on the market by over 60 decibels, with no crosstalk identified.
- The company is completing a binding commercial agreement with its testing collaborator, with announcement expected in coming weeks.
- QTREX forecasts additional quantum industry partnerships before 2026 concludes.
Shares of QTREX Quantum experienced significant gains during Friday’s premarket session. The stock surged as high as 14%, trading around the $0.88 level.
The rally came on the heels of a Thursday announcement revealing independent evaluation results for the firm’s cryogenic interconnect platform. A quantum computing company that was not identified performed the assessment.
Evaluation occurred at 20 millikelvin, representing the ultra-cold environment required for quantum computing operations. The interconnect demonstrated channel isolation surpassing 100 decibels within the 4 to 8 gigahertz qubit frequency range.
This performance level exceeds industry-leading flexible cables by more than 60 decibels. According to the company, no measurable crosstalk occurred between channels during testing.
Key Performance Metrics
QTREX reported the interconnect additionally provided phase-matched channel performance, minimal insertion loss, and consistent operation across multiple thermal cycling and physical bending tests. The company noted impedance consistency matched machined coaxial cable standards.
The platform utilizes what QTREX refers to as Additively Manufactured Electronics. The technology creates a unified monolithic component instead of combining multiple assembled pieces.
According to QTREX, this architecture addresses wiring congestion and thermal management challenges that have prevented quantum processors from exceeding several hundred qubits. The firm claims its solution could enable architectures supporting up to one million qubits.
Chief Executive Dagi Ben-Noon characterized the testing conditions as among the most demanding in the computing industry. He noted the customer utilized its proprietary cryogenic infrastructure, measurement equipment, and benchmark cables throughout the validation process.
“We view 60 decibels more isolation than the leading flexible cabling on the market as not an improvement but a different category,” Ben-Noon said.
Commercial Agreement Nearing Completion
Based on the validation outcomes, QTREX announced it is working toward finalizing a binding definitive contract with the testing organization. Complete commercial terms are anticipated to be disclosed in the coming weeks.
The firm also indicated it expects to secure additional agreements during the fourth quarter within the quantum computing space. Specific financial terms or contract values were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Ness Ziona, Israel, QTREX operates on the Nasdaq exchange. The company maintains business lines serving defense, aerospace, and space sectors, along with a legacy medical device portfolio it plans to divest.
Notwithstanding Friday’s surge, QTREX’s overall investment outlook remains uncertain. TipRanks’ AI-powered analyst platform, Spark, assigns the stock a Neutral rating.
The assessment highlights concerns around financial stability, including inconsistent revenue generation and continued cash consumption. Technical indicators also reflect bearish momentum, with shares positioned beneath key moving average levels.
QTREX maintains a market capitalization around $45.72 million. Daily trading volume averages approximately 2.69 million shares.
The company does not distribute dividends, and negative earnings produce an undefined P/E ratio. Friday’s price appreciation stems exclusively from the validation announcement and forthcoming partnership disclosure.
