Solana (SOL) Surges Past $100 as Network Smashes Transaction Records

      Key Highlights

      • July 2026 saw Solana handle a record-breaking 4.2 billion transactions, marking a 13.5% increase from the previous month
      • Transaction volume has surged 91% compared to December 2025 levels
      • Real-world assets tokenized on Solana approached the $4 billion milestone
      • SOL surpassed the $100 threshold for the first time since February following a 40% eight-day surge
      • Crypto markets benefited from U.S. Treasury’s announcement to expand long-term bond buyback programs

July 2026 marked a milestone month for Solana’s blockchain infrastructure, with the network processing an unprecedented 4.2 billion transactions. This achievement represents a 13.5% month-over-month growth from June’s figures and a remarkable 91% expansion since December 2025.

The seven-day stretch from Aug. 17 through Aug. 23 emerged as Solana’s most active week on record, registering 1.32 billion non-vote transactions. Real-time metrics from DefiLlama indicated approximately 109 million transactions alongside 2.7 million active wallet addresses within a 24-hour period on Aug. 25.

Decentralized exchange activity on Solana exploded with a 103% week-over-week surge, reaching $20.14 billion in total volume. The daily trading volume hovered around $3.02 billion. Jupiter, the leading DEX aggregator, currently commands 71% of all aggregator volume across the network.

The stablecoin ecosystem on Solana expanded to $15.94 billion, climbing 3.58% within a week. USDC comprises 44.95% of the total stablecoin supply on the platform.

Real-World Asset Tokenization Approaches $4 Billion Threshold

By Aug. 25, tokenized real-world assets on Solana had reached $3.97 billion, representing an 11.81% increase over the preceding 30 days, based on data from RWA.xyz. The tracking service monitored 1,243 distinct assets operating on the network.

The Solana Foundation’s end-of-July report indicated RWA valuations at $3.73 billion distributed among more than 313,000 token holders. This suggests approximately $240 million in fresh capital flowed into the sector in less than 30 days.

When examining the broader blockchain landscape monitored by RWA.xyz, aggregate distributed RWA valuations reached $38.18 billion. Tokenized U.S. government debt instruments represented $15.64 billion of this figure.

SOL Pierces $100 Ceiling in First Break Since February

Solana experienced an approximately 40% appreciation over an eight-day window, breaching the $100 level for the first time since February. The digital asset touched an intraday peak of $102.88 before experiencing a pullback toward $88. Market participants provided support, driving prices back into the mid-$90 range.

A significant market catalyst emerged on Aug. 19 when the U.S. Treasury Department revealed plans to expand liquidity-support buybacks for long-duration bonds by at least doubling the program size. The maximum operation size increased from $2 billion to $4 billion, with implementation scheduled for Sept. 9.

The 30-year Treasury yield declined from its 19-year peak of 5.34% to approximately 5.19% after the announcement. This shift reduced headwinds for risk-oriented assets and contributed to one of the cryptocurrency market’s most robust single-day advances since March.

The Kobeissi Letter, a prominent financial analysis account, drew attention to the record-setting transaction metrics on X, observing that cryptocurrency markets had accumulated $580 billion in additional market capitalization since Aug. 16. The analysis also emphasized Jupiter’s commanding position within Solana’s DEX infrastructure as a primary catalyst for onchain engagement.

SOL continues trading significantly below its January 2025 peak near $295. U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded funds, which debuted in late 2025, had gathered more than $1.12 billion in aggregate inflows through May 2026.
