SpaceX Reports Strong Q3 2026 Earnings with AI Revenue Surpassing $7.5 Billion

SpaceX has announced its third-quarter earnings for 2026, significantly exceeding analyst expectations across all major financial metrics. The company reported a revenue of approximately $14.6 billion, a remarkable 161% increase compared to the same period last year, and well above the forecast of $12.9 billion. Earnings per share reached 35 cents, more than double the anticipated 15 cents, while net income soared to about $4.4 billion, surpassing the expected $1.9 billion.

The standout performer for SpaceX was its artificial intelligence (AI) segment, which generated around $7.6 billion in revenue, exceeding the forecast of $6.3 billion and accounting for over half of the company's total sales. The connectivity segment also performed well, bringing in about $5.3 billion, while the space segment contributed approximately $1.8 billion, both surpassing their respective estimates.

Despite the strong revenue growth, SpaceX's capital expenditures remained high, totaling about $19.6 billion, which was in line with expectations but still exceeded total revenue for the quarter. Notably, AI capital expenditures accounted for roughly $16.4 billion of this total. While the results indicate that the company's investments in AI are yielding returns faster than analysts had predicted, the ongoing high spending raises questions about the sustainability of profit margins in the future. Total costs and expenses were reported at about $11.8 billion, above the expected $11.2 billion, highlighting the need for careful monitoring of cost management as revenue growth potentially moderates.
