UK Consumer Price Index Rises to 3.5% in September

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the United Kingdom increased by 3.5% year-on-year in September 2026, slightly above the expected rise of 3.4%. This marks an increase from the previous month's CPI of 3.1%.

Core CPI, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, remained steady at 2.8% year-on-year, matching expectations and showing an increase from 2.6% in August. This data reflects ongoing inflationary pressures in the UK economy as it navigates post-pandemic recovery challenges.
