US Stock Indices Show Signs of Support Amidst Market Uncertainty

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices are currently experiencing buying interest at critical support levels, although analysts indicate that further progress is necessary for a more bullish outlook. For the S&P 500, buyers are testing a swing area between 7577.92 and 7636.33, which previously served as a resistance point and is now being evaluated as a potential support floor. Maintaining levels above 7636.33 is crucial for buyers to remain engaged in the market, but they must also reclaim the 100-hour moving average at 7681.09 and the 200-hour moving average at 7694.73 to regain control.

Similarly, the Nasdaq Composite has found buyers near the August 24 low of 25,910 and the rising 100-day moving average at approximately 25,945. This combination establishes a defined support area that is critical for maintaining a longer-term bullish trend. However, resistance levels are present at the 100-hour moving average of 26,273.69 and the 200-hour moving average of 26,328.64, which buyers need to overcome to enhance the short-term market sentiment.

Overall, while buyers have successfully defended key support levels, they have yet to assert full control over the market. Holding these support levels is a necessary first step toward recovery, but it does not confirm a bullish reversal. To shift momentum back in their favor, buyers must also break through the moving average resistance above.
