USD/CHF Faces Resistance as Sellers Gain Control

The USD/CHF currency pair reached a new high on October 14, 2026, marking its highest point since May 2025. However, the price encountered significant resistance at the 50% retracement level of the previous decline from the 2025 high, which is positioned at 0.8400. The peak was recorded at approximately 0.83944, just shy of this critical threshold, leading to a downward correction as sellers stepped in.

As the price retreated, it fell below several key technical levels on the hourly chart, indicating a shift in market sentiment towards sellers. The pair dropped through a swing area between 0.83415 and 0.83480, as well as the converged 100-hour and 200-hour moving averages near 0.8320. This decline has brought the price into a well-defined swing area between 0.82636 and 0.82740, which has previously acted as both support and resistance since mid-September.

Traders are now closely monitoring this lower boundary. A sustained hold above 0.82636 could provide buyers with an opportunity to stabilize the price, while a break below this level may lead to further declines towards the next support levels around 0.82243 to 0.82250. The daily chart suggests that the sellers have gained more control, and their next challenge will be to break through the established floor to extend the downward movement.
