Venezuela's Oil Exports Decline as U.S. Shipments Increase

In September 2026, Venezuela's oil exports decreased to 1.08 million barrels per day (bpd), marking a significant decline in the country's oil production capabilities. This drop comes as shipments to the United States rose to 629,000 bpd, indicating a shift in the dynamics of oil trade in the region.

Exports to other major markets also saw a decline, with shipments to India falling to 253,000 bpd and to Europe dropping to 86,000 bpd. Despite the overall decrease in Venezuelan oil exports, Chevron's exports of Venezuelan crude remained relatively stable at 283,000 bpd, reflecting the company's ongoing operations in the country.
