Dollar Weakness Observed in USDJPY and USDCHF as USDCAD Tests Trendline Support

Recent trading activity has shown a notable weakness in the US dollar, particularly against the Japanese yen and Swiss franc. The USDJPY pair has fallen below significant hourly moving averages, indicating a shift in short-term market sentiment towards sellers. The pair encountered resistance around 158.46, where the 200-day moving average and a key retracement level converge. Following this, the USDJPY dropped to an intraday low of 157.35, but has since fluctuated between the 100-hour and 200-hour moving averages, creating a pivotal moment for traders.

In the case of the USDCHF, the currency pair had been on a six-day winning streak but faced a technical challenge today. After reaching a high of 0.8382, the price retreated below the 100-hour moving average at 0.8328, suggesting a potential shift in momentum. The next significant support level is near 0.8282, where the 200-hour moving average and a rising trendline intersect, marking a critical test for both buyers and sellers.

Meanwhile, the USDCAD remains higher on the day, although it has retreated from a new high of 1.4258, the highest level since April 2025. The price is currently testing an upward-sloping trendline at 1.4234. While buyers have regained control after a brief dip below this trendline, the ability to maintain this position will be crucial for sustaining bullish momentum. A break below the trendline could open the door for sellers, with the rising 100-hour moving average at 1.41877 as the next target.
