The rally comes on the heels of upbeat Wall Street commentary linked to fresh state-level energy regulations. Virginia unveiled its 2026 Energy Plan Thursday, and analysts see significant upside for fuel cell providers.

RBC Capital’s Christopher Dendrinos maintained his Outperform recommendation Friday morning. His $335 price objective remains substantially above current trading levels.

Dendrinos described the Virginia framework as an encouraging development for Bloom. He noted that regulators are increasingly leaning toward cleaner, lower-noise power solutions instead of conventional gas-fired generation.

The newly released plan establishes a “non-combustion gas resource” designation. Fuel cell systems are identified as a priority technology for near-term grid stability within this framework.

State officials are targeting 5 gigawatts of such capacity to be installed from 2029 through 2035. For Bloom’s utility-scale operations, that represents a substantial market opening if targets are met.

Dendrinos also emphasized logistical benefits. Fuel cell installations can be completed in 18 to 24 months versus several years for traditional gas facilities, and they sidestep the need for extensive new pipeline construction.

Barclays upgraded its target Thursday as well, moving from $276 to $308. The firm highlighted Bloom’s purchase of an additional 158,000-square-foot Fremont, California manufacturing site.

This expansion is projected to roughly double production output. Barclays additionally referenced a utility market submission as proof of Bloom entering fresh commercial segments.

Morgan Stanley maintains an Overweight view with a $310 objective. Across Wall Street, 15 analysts recommend buying the shares, 12 suggest holding, and 2 advise selling.

      Bloom’s 2026 Performance

Friday’s move caps a remarkable year. Shares have soared more than 219% from the beginning of 2026.

September delivered roughly 29% appreciation on its own, aided by Bloom’s entry into the S&P 500. Index inclusion typically attracts passive fund flows.

Second-quarter financials also drove investor enthusiasm. The company reported revenue above $1 billion for the first time, representing a 166% year-over-year increase.

Bloom lifted its full-year 2026 revenue outlook as well, now projecting $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion. That guidance reflects a substantial increase from earlier forecasts.

Broader equity indices provided a tailwind Friday. The S&P 500 advanced roughly 1%, the Nasdaq gained approximately 1.4%, and the Dow climbed about 0.7%.

Bloom’s five-year beta exceeds 3.5, indicating it typically moves more dramatically than the overall market. On positive trading days, that high sensitivity amplifies gains.

A single insider transaction appeared this week. An executive sold shares linked to standard RSU vesting, a scheduled activity that generally holds limited interpretive value regarding corporate outlook.

By publication time Friday, Bloom Energy traded up 3.83% at $288.21, per Benzinga Pro data. Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger noted the state’s energy infrastructure “will need to grow at a pace we have not seen in more than 80 years.”
