Bullish Exchange Lists STX Token for Institutional Trading

Bullish, a regulated digital asset exchange listed on the NYSE under the ticker BLSH, has added the Stacks network's native token, STX, to its trading platform. This development provides institutional investors with a compliant entry point into Bitcoin-based decentralized finance (DeFi), leveraging the capabilities of the Stacks layer-1 network without altering Bitcoin's base layer.

The Stacks network enables smart contracts and decentralized applications on Bitcoin, with STX serving multiple functions including transaction fee payments, participation in Proof of Transfer (PoX) mining, and earning Stacking rewards. Bullish operates under the regulation of the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and has received approval from the New York Department of Financial Services, offering 24/7 access to digital assets.

The listing of STX comes at a time when the Stacks network is preparing for a PoX-5 hard fork scheduled for July 2026, aimed at enhancing its technical capabilities. Additionally, Stacks has initiated a Bitcoin staking pilot with institutional partners, with plans for a broader rollout in mid-2026. Existing investment vehicles like the Grayscale Stacks Trust and the 21Shares Stacks ETP already provide traditional finance players with exposure to STX, and Bullish's listing adds another avenue for access to this token.

The introduction of STX on Bullish's platform was made without a significant marketing campaign, appearing quietly on the trading interface. Current reports do not provide specific metrics on trading volume since the listing, indicating that further observation will be necessary to evaluate its impact on the market.
